Animal print silk scarves

Every card gives the size in inches, with centimeters alongside. When a print comes in more than one color, the small squares next to the price switch between them.

Silk Scarfs

Leopards, drawn whole or as a border

Overlapping leopards across 51 in (130 cm) shawls, and an emerald square of tonal roses framed by a leopard border.

The leopard print silk scarf, in two forms

A leopard print silk scarf here takes one of two forms: a shawl covered in overlapping leopards, or a smaller square where the leopard runs only around the border. The same animal, worn in very different ways.

Leopard Nap: overlapping leopards

Leopard Nap is a 51 in (130 cm) shawl printed with leopards overlapping one another across the whole square, right up to the border. It comes in orange and tawny with plum inside an orange border, in cobalt and sky blue with a navy edge, and in orange and gray inside a leaf green border. Each colorway also sits on its color page: orange, blue and green.

Leopard Frame: roses in a leopard border

Leopard Frame turns the idea around. Its center holds tonal roses on emerald, and the leopard pattern runs only around the edge, in sand and black. At 25.5 in (65 cm), it is the leopard silk scarf to knot at the neck, tie in the hair or wind around a bag handle. Knotted as a triangle at the neck, its bordered sides frame the front. It is one of our silk square scarves in the 25.5 in (65 cm) size.

Wearing the leopard shawl

A shawl this size is a square, not a long stole. Worn open, it covers both shoulders; drawn up, it covers head and shoulders together; folded into a triangle and knotted at the hip, it becomes a sarong over a swimsuit. Folded into a band, it also ties loosely at the neck. Twelve ways, from shoulders to sarong.

What leopard goes with

An animal print silk scarf already reads as a pattern, so it sits most easily with plain clothes: a navy or camel coat, a white shirt, black knitwear, denim. Then let one color of the scarf repeat in the outfit: brown, rust or olive with the orange colorways, gray with the orange and gray one, black or cream with the emerald square. Scarves in brown tones.

Questions about the leopard print silk scarf

Is the leopard print all over or only on the border?

It depends on the scarf. On the Leopard Nap shawls, the leopards cover the whole square up to the border. On the Leopard Frame square, the center is roses and the leopard pattern only runs around the edge, so it shows most once the square is knotted.

Does a leopard scarf go with navy?

Yes. The blue Leopard Nap shawl is drawn in cobalt and sky blue with a navy edge, so it matches navy directly. The orange and tawny version contrasts with navy instead, which suits a navy coat or a plain navy dress.

What sizes do the leopard scarves come in?

For now, the Leopard Nap shawls measure 51 × 51 in (130 × 130 cm) and the Leopard Frame square 25.5 × 25.5 in (65 × 65 cm). There is no leopard bandana or skinny scarf in this collection at the moment.

How do I wear leopard print without it looking loud?

Keep the rest of the outfit plain and let one color of the print come back in it. The orange and gray shawl over a gray sweater, or the emerald square knotted at the neck of a black top, reads as one look rather than two patterns competing.

Which leopard scarf can I tie on a bag?

The Leopard Frame square. Fold it into a narrow band and wrap it around the handle, finishing with a knot or a small bow at one end. The 51 in (130 cm) shawls are too large for a handle and belong on the shoulders. Tying a scarf on a bag.
