Silk Scarfs

Blush, coral, raspberry and hot pink

Most of our pink prints come as skinny scarves, the narrowest shape we make. See how to tie one around a ponytail, a bun or as a headband.

Hair ideas for a skinny scarf

Pink silk scarves, blush to fuchsia

A pink silk scarf in this collection is usually a skinny one, a 2 in (5 cm) ribbon of print. The shades run from blush and dusty pink through coral and raspberry to hot pink and fuchsia.

The soft end: blush and dusty pink

A blush silk scarf is the gentlest way into the color. Blush carries periwinkle bouquets on a shawl with a cream border, and joins lime and sky blue around a sketched house with a garden pool. On a bandana, white lilies are laid down in loose brushstrokes over a dusty pink ground. These soft pinks sit well with gray marl, light denim, cream and camel. Blush shading toward lilac continues on the purple silk scarves page.

Coral, raspberry, hot pink, fuchsia

A hot pink silk scarf works like a bright lipstick: one strong note close to the face. The sketched house with a blossom tree and roses sets hot pink against yellow and brown; raspberry fills medallions and star tiles with yellow and cream; giraffes and blooms mix fuchsia with azure and lime. Coral covers a print of star leaves and small flowers, and terriers run through jungle and stripes in coral, pink and red. Wear these with navy, white, olive or tobacco. Deeper reds are on the red silk scarves page, and coral with more orange in it on the orange one.

A ribbon of pink in the hair

On a narrow band, pink stays a detail. Wound around a ponytail, tied as a thin headband or knotted at the side of the neck, it adds a line of color without covering much. The pink canal facades with brick and waves, or the orange version with a seahorse and touches of pink, are easy to wear on a plain weekday. All skinny scarves.

Bandana, large square and shawl

Beyond the skinny scarves, 2 × 33.5 to 35.5 in (5 × 85 to 90 cm), pink comes in three larger shapes. The dusty pink lily bandana measures 21 in (53 cm), right for a kerchief at the nape. The pastel garden square, 43.5 in (110 cm), mixes pink with pale blue and sage over misty hills. The blush shawl, 51 in (130 cm), opens over the shoulders or ties as a sarong. Sizes side by side.

Questions about pink silk scarves

Does pink work with black, or is it too sweet?

Choose a strong shade and it holds its own. Raspberry and hot pink stand up to black, and the yellow in both prints keeps them from looking sugary. Blush is softer and can fade beside black; it looks fresher against navy, gray or white.

Which pink scarf makes an easy gift?

A skinny scarf is the simplest to give: there is no size to choose, and it can go in the hair, at the neck, around the wrist or on a bag. The pastel house with a garden pool and the coral flowers are the softest choices; the hot pink house with a blossom tree is the boldest.

Can a pink scarf look serious enough for work?

Yes, if the print is orderly and the shade is deep. Raspberry medallions and star tiles on cream look structured rather than playful; knot the skinny scarf at the side of the neck, under a blazer collar. Navy, gray and camel suits leave room for it.

Is it a mistake to wear pink with orange?

Not at all; the two sit close together, and they often share a print. The skinny scarf of canal facades with a seahorse mixes orange, pink and sky blue, and coral is itself a pink with orange in it. Keep the clothes plain, white or denim, and let the scarf carry both.

Which pink scarves are mostly pink, and which just a touch?

Mostly pink: the dusty pink lily bandana, the hot pink house with a blossom tree, the raspberry medallions and the coral terriers. Just a touch: the green chain skinny scarf, where blush shares the bands with powder blue, and the pastel garden square, where pink is one of three soft colors over misty hills.
