The skinny silk scarf: hair, neck, wrist and bag
A skinny silk scarf is a narrow ribbon of printed silk, 2 × 33.5 to 35.5 in (5 × 85 to 90 cm). Because it needs no folding, it is the quickest of our scarves to tie.
In the hair
Tie it around a ponytail and let the ends fall like a silk hair ribbon, or wrap it once around a bun and knot it underneath. Laid across the top of the head and knotted at the nape, it makes a thin headband that keeps the front of your hair back.

At the neck and the wrist
As a neck scarf, a skinny scarf goes once around the collar and ties in a small knot or a bow to one side, or hangs loose under an open shirt collar. Wound two or three times around the wrist and knotted, it sits like a soft bracelet. Other sizes for the collar are in our silk neck scarves.

On a bag handle
Wind it in a spiral along a top handle and knot the ends at each side, or tie a single bow where the handle meets the bag. At 2 in (5 cm) wide it suits most handles, which is why a skinny one is the usual silk scarf for handbag straps. How to tie a scarf on a bag.
Prints at ribbon scale
On a ribbon 2 in (5 cm) wide, a print reads as a repeat: tiny flowers with star leaves, canal facades with brick and waves, giraffes among chrysanthemums or honeycomb, moon faces with horses and rabbits, terriers in a jungle, house sketches with a blossom tree or a garden pool, chains and ropes in color bands, medallions on star tiles. Most of these prints come in several colorways.

How long is a skinny silk scarf?
Ours measure 2 in (5 cm) wide and 33.5 to 35.5 in (85 to 90 cm) long, depending on the print. That is enough for a bow at the neck or two or three turns around the wrist, without ends trailing. See it beside the other sizes.
Is a 2 in (5 cm) scarf wide enough for a headband?
For a thin one, yes: at 2 in (5 cm) it lies across the top of the head like a ribbon, ends under the hair, knotted at the nape. For a wider band that covers more of the head, a folded bandana is the next step up. Bandanas for a wider band.
Can I wrap a skinny silk scarf around a chain bag strap?
Yes. Weave it in and out of the links, or wind it around the chain in a spiral, then knot each end at a ring. At 33.5 to 35.5 in (85 to 90 cm), it covers a short handle or part of a longer shoulder strap.
Do you have a skinny scarf in pink?
