Color Blocks on an Orange and Navy Horse Print Silk Square Scarf

The background is a set of flat color blocks: bright orange at the top left, a thick navy frame, and panels of beige, cream and blush pink. Over them, a horse is sketched in navy hatching, its head drawn twice, once in soft taupe with a mane of tiny roses and once white with a red mane. Loose lines trail below it. The edge is pale pink, and on the folded corner the blocks look faded on the reverse.

Navy and Orange Silk Neck Scarf Knots, Front and Back

Knotted low on the throat, it shows the orange, navy and pink bands on both tails. As a head covering, it goes over the hair with the pink edge at the forehead and ties at the nape, where the ends drop down the back. It can also hang from a bag strap by one corner. Care instructions

Silk is a protein fiber. Treat it the way you treat hair.

  1. Hand wash, coldTwo minutes in cold water with a detergent made for silk or wool.
  2. Never a biological detergentIts enzymes break down protein, and silk is protein. No bleach either.
  3. Press, then dry flatRoll it in a towel to take the water out. Never wring it.
  4. Out of the sunDirect light fades dye. Dry it flat in the shade, not on a radiator.
  5. Iron damp, on the reverseLowest setting, no steam, and keep the iron off the hem.
  6. Store it loosely rolledRolled loosely in a drawer, away from light. A tight fold leaves a crease.

Dry cleaning works too: ask for silk, no solvent on the hem.
