Paisley Silk Bandana Set Of 2: Merlot and Lacework

Two takes on the classic paisley bandana. Merlot scatters rust, tan and cream paisleys over a clouded ground of navy and burgundy, inside a burgundy frame lined with thin mustard stripes and tiny stars. Lacework sprinkles ivory and gray paisleys on deep navy and frames them with broad lace-like paisley edging. Both show a lighter reverse where a corner turns back.

How to Wear a Paisley Silk Bandana, Western or Not

Fold Merlot corner to corner and tie it at the neck, Western style. Tie Lacework in the hair as a kerchief or a narrow band. Swap them over the next day, or lend one to a friend. Both belong to our western silk scarves, next to the other paisleys and bandana prints.

Paisley Bandana Size and Gentle Washing

Both bandanas are 21 × 21 in (53 × 53 cm). Hand rinse the burgundy one alone and the navy one after it, with silk detergent and cold water, then dry flat. They ship separately and may arrive in two parcels. Sold singly as Merlot and Lacework. See our size guide.

Care instructions

Silk is a protein fiber. Treat it the way you treat hair.

  1. Hand wash, coldTwo minutes in cold water with a detergent made for silk or wool.
  2. Never a biological detergentIts enzymes break down protein, and silk is protein. No bleach either.
  3. Press, then dry flatRoll it in a towel to take the water out. Never wring it.
  4. Out of the sunDirect light fades dye. Dry it flat in the shade, not on a radiator.
  5. Iron damp, on the reverseLowest setting, no steam, and keep the iron off the hem.
  6. Store it loosely rolledRolled loosely in a drawer, away from light. A tight fold leaves a crease.

Dry cleaning works too: ask for silk, no solvent on the hem.
