A Black Star Print Silk Bandana with a Celestial Border

The center is plain black scattered with small white stars, set in loose rows. Around it runs a wide border drawn in fine white line: blazing suns with long wavy rays, sets of concentric rings like planetary orbits and curling scrolls between them. An outer frame of tiny outlined stars and two thin white rules finishes the square, in the layout of a traditional bandana. The reverse is pale, with the design showing through in gray.

Celestial Silk Scarf Ties for the Neck and Hair

Folded into a triangle, it ties at one side of the neck and lets the sun border show at the front. Over a low bun, the folded band ties just above the ear. Care instructions

Silk is a protein fiber. Treat it the way you treat hair.

  1. Hand wash, coldTwo minutes in cold water with a detergent made for silk or wool.
  2. Never a biological detergentIts enzymes break down protein, and silk is protein. No bleach either.
  3. Press, then dry flatRoll it in a towel to take the water out. Never wring it.
  4. Out of the sunDirect light fades dye. Dry it flat in the shade, not on a radiator.
  5. Iron damp, on the reverseLowest setting, no steam, and keep the iron off the hem.
  6. Store it loosely rolledRolled loosely in a drawer, away from light. A tight fold leaves a crease.

Dry cleaning works too: ask for silk, no solvent on the hem.
