A Pink Architecture Skinny Silk & Satin Scarf Built Floor by Floor

One strand of this skinny scarf stacks up like a street of houses: red brick walls, rows of windows, tall orange domes, a yellow balcony and a red seahorse beside an arched window. The other strand is all motion, with fine pink lines that ripple like water around a few small pale blue objects. Near both tips, scalloped waves in red and gray carry a little seahorse in yellow and green. Cream fills the gaps and keeps the colors light.

Pastel Skinny Silk & Satin Scarf Ideas

Around the neck, a knot at the side lets the houses hang on one end and the wavy lines on the other. Tied around the wrist, it makes a playful bracelet. Care instructions

Silk is a protein fiber. Treat it the way you treat hair.

  1. Hand wash, coldTwo minutes in cold water with a detergent made for silk or wool.
  2. Never a biological detergentIts enzymes break down protein, and silk is protein. No bleach either.
  3. Press, then dry flatRoll it in a towel to take the water out. Never wring it.
  4. Out of the sunDirect light fades dye. Dry it flat in the shade, not on a radiator.
  5. Iron damp, on the reverseLowest setting, no steam, and keep the iron off the hem.
  6. Store it loosely rolledRolled loosely in a drawer, away from light. A tight fold leaves a crease.

Dry cleaning works too: ask for silk, no solvent on the hem.
