Lilac Facades on a Light Blue Architecture Skinny Silk & Satin Scarf

This colorway cools the street down. The building strand mixes lilac brickwork, a green tiled facade, yellow windows and an arched window filled with blue waves, stacked from one tip to the middle. The second strand is a sky blue sea drawn in long wavy lines, with small creatures and objects drifting through it. Lilac scalloped waves at the tips hold a yellow and gray seahorse. The palette is pale and powdery, closer to pastel chalk than to bright paint.

As a headband, it smooths long hair back with lilac and green on top. At the collar, a loose knot on one side lets the facade strand hang longer than the sky blue waves. Care instructions

Silk is a protein fiber. Treat it the way you treat hair.

  1. Hand wash, coldTwo minutes in cold water with a detergent made for silk or wool.
  2. Never a biological detergentIts enzymes break down protein, and silk is protein. No bleach either.
  3. Press, then dry flatRoll it in a towel to take the water out. Never wring it.
  4. Out of the sunDirect light fades dye. Dry it flat in the shade, not on a radiator.
  5. Iron damp, on the reverseLowest setting, no steam, and keep the iron off the hem.
  6. Store it loosely rolledRolled loosely in a drawer, away from light. A tight fold leaves a crease.

Dry cleaning works too: ask for silk, no solvent on the hem.
