A Pink Botanical Floral Silk Shawl in Blush and Periwinkle

This colorway trades the reds for cooler flowers. Periwinkle tulips and poppies lead the bouquets on a blush pink ground, joined by an orange tulip, cream lilies, yellow daisies and dark green stems and leaves. The drawing is the same fine botanical line, but the softer palette makes it read almost like a watercolor. A cream border edged with a pink line frames it, and the turned corner shows the bouquets faded on the reverse.

Care instructions

Silk is a protein fiber. Treat it the way you treat hair.

  1. Hand wash, coldTwo minutes in cold water with a detergent made for silk or wool.
  2. Never a biological detergentIts enzymes break down protein, and silk is protein. No bleach either.
  3. Press, then dry flatRoll it in a towel to take the water out. Never wring it.
  4. Out of the sunDirect light fades dye. Dry it flat in the shade, not on a radiator.
  5. Iron damp, on the reverseLowest setting, no steam, and keep the iron off the hem.
  6. Store it loosely rolledRolled loosely in a drawer, away from light. A tight fold leaves a crease.

Dry cleaning works too: ask for silk, no solvent on the hem.
