A Mustard Floral Silk Bandana with Lilies and Butterflies

Warm mustard covers the whole square, and a bouquet spreads across it from corner to corner. White lilies streaked with red open beside coral-pink tulips, while sprays of small round white blooms and violet florets fill the gaps. Long slate-blue leaves curl between the stems, and small orange butterflies rest among them. A deep navy border with a fine inner line frames the field. Where one corner folds back, the flowers reappear in paler tones on the reverse.

Silk Bandana for Hair: Headband, Neck Knot or Kerchief

As a headband worn with a low bun, it knots above one ear and the navy-edged tips stick out to the side. As a neck scarf, the triangle sits at the front and the knot goes to one side. Opened over the hair and fastened at the nape, it becomes a kerchief over the crown, the two ends falling down the back. More squares this size are in our silk bandanas.

Care instructions

Silk is a protein fiber. Treat it the way you treat hair.

  1. Hand wash, coldTwo minutes in cold water with a detergent made for silk or wool.
  2. Never a biological detergentIts enzymes break down protein, and silk is protein. No bleach either.
  3. Press, then dry flatRoll it in a towel to take the water out. Never wring it.
  4. Out of the sunDirect light fades dye. Dry it flat in the shade, not on a radiator.
  5. Iron damp, on the reverseLowest setting, no steam, and keep the iron off the hem.
  6. Store it loosely rolledRolled loosely in a drawer, away from light. A tight fold leaves a crease.

Dry cleaning works too: ask for silk, no solvent on the hem.
