A Mustard Chain Print Skinny Silk Scarf with Twisted Ropes

Wide bands of mustard, orange, olive green and cream run across this skinny scarf, and over them hangs a tangle of hardware drawn in silver gray: heavy chains, hooks, ring bits and loops of twisted rope in honey yellow. A crest-like medallion sits near the middle of the ribbon. The pattern changes rhythm with every band, so each tie shows a different mix. Both slanted tips end in a deep navy band, edged on the inside by a thin orange line.

Rope and Chain Silk Scarf Looks: Neck, Wrist and Bag

Tie it at the neck with the knot pushed to one side and the navy tips point down over a white shirt, the ropes running around the collar. Wrapped around the wrist, the bands turn into a striped cuff. Care instructions

Silk is a protein fiber. Treat it the way you treat hair.

  1. Hand wash, coldTwo minutes in cold water with a detergent made for silk or wool.
  2. Never a biological detergentIts enzymes break down protein, and silk is protein. No bleach either.
  3. Press, then dry flatRoll it in a towel to take the water out. Never wring it.
  4. Out of the sunDirect light fades dye. Dry it flat in the shade, not on a radiator.
  5. Iron damp, on the reverseLowest setting, no steam, and keep the iron off the hem.
  6. Store it loosely rolledRolled loosely in a drawer, away from light. A tight fold leaves a crease.

Dry cleaning works too: ask for silk, no solvent on the hem.
