Orange Chain Print Silk Shawl With Buckles and Tassels

An orange star sits at the center, circled by amber chain links with touches of blue around a round medallion. From it, tan leather-look straps with buckles stretch toward the edges, crossing loops of amber and royal blue ribbon on an ivory field. A ring of beads and small medallions frames the field, a blue horse-head tassel sits in each orange corner, and a thin periwinkle line runs along the edge. The reverse is a paler peach.

Shawl, Sarong or Hood: Wearing an Orange Silk Scarf

Drape it over the shoulders with one corner hanging in front, and the tassel lands at the center like a small cape. Wrapped around the waist, it becomes a sarong skirt. It can also cover the head and shoulders together as a hooded wrap. See more in our large silk scarves.

Care instructions

Silk is a protein fiber. Treat it the way you treat hair.

  1. Hand wash, coldTwo minutes in cold water with a detergent made for silk or wool.
  2. Never a biological detergentIts enzymes break down protein, and silk is protein. No bleach either.
  3. Press, then dry flatRoll it in a towel to take the water out. Never wring it.
  4. Out of the sunDirect light fades dye. Dry it flat in the shade, not on a radiator.
  5. Iron damp, on the reverseLowest setting, no steam, and keep the iron off the hem.
  6. Store it loosely rolledRolled loosely in a drawer, away from light. A tight fold leaves a crease.

Dry cleaning works too: ask for silk, no solvent on the hem.
